Raven Juarez
Artist - Educator-Presenter
Raven Juarez is a Seattle-based artist and educator of Blackfeet descent whose work sits at the intersection of storytelling, identity, and community. Her illustrative, mixed-media practice transforms complex interior experiences into something both deeply personal and universally felt, each piece a kind of artifact, invisible aspects of selfhood made tangible. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College with a BA in Visual Arts, Child Development, and Psychology, Raven brings more than a decade of early childhood education in Seattle directly into her artistic practice. Her process-over-product approach, rooted in years of watching children make meaning through mark-making, shapes not just what she makes but how and why she makes it.Her work is, at its core, a conversation with herself, her artist's voice a way to put herself into all her imagined worlds and stories, or back in time through memories, or forward into dreams.
“ “I want to bring validity to children’s art by showing how my own art and life have been enriched and inspired by it.””
